Love Touch Records was launched in 2019 by Toronto DJ/Producer and Record Collector, Gil Masuda. An avid vinyl junkie, Gil wanted to have more of his own productions pressed on wax and in the hands of DJ’s. He knew there was a subculture of “vinyl-only” and “strictly 45s” DJs worldwide (he was one of them) and naturally wanted to cater to them!
The only mandate was to showcase more female talent – an area he thought was lacking in the Modern Funk and Boogie scene. In late 2019, Love Touch Records released two 7” singles, Amalia & The Precious Lo’s “Sanctify feat. Brian Ellis” and Maya Killtron “Found You”. The limited pressing of 300 copies worldwide for each release sold out quickly and cemented Love Touch Records as a player in the Modern Funk and Boogie community.
Other artists that have worked with the label include Maylee Todd, Saucy Lady, T-Groove, U-Key and Diamond Ortiz.
Love Touch Records releases six 7” singles each year, with Gil handling the in-house production while farming out remix work to other producers.
